A familiar face is returning to the GO! morning show here at 3News.
Danielle Wiggins will be back with our team once again this week — and it all starts during the 6 a.m. broadcast on Tuesday as she continues easing into her role months after undergoing surgery for breast cancer.
Upon her return this week, we’re also launching a new health series called “Do It For Danielle” to emphasize the importance of self exams.
Wiggins recently made her TV comeback on GO! back on May 6 to share an update on her recovery.
“I feel good,” she said. “It’s interesting because the last time we sat here we were in tears. There was a lot of fear because, for me, the unknown. I didn’t know what stage it was. I didn’t know if it spread. I didn’t know those things. Right now, those unknowns have been answered. I had the surgery. They removed the detectable cancer. It was stage one. It did not spread, so it did not metastasize. That was great news.”

She said testing shows that she does not need chemotherapy.
“For me, right now, it’s just maintaining and taking the pills to make sure that the cancer doesn’t return,” Wiggins explained.
Before her surgery, Wiggins made the following statement: “I want life. I want people who bring life around me. On the morning show, it has been a great distraction. You’ll hear me in the background laughing, but it helps because it brings life.”
Wiggins publicly discussed her breast cancer diagnosis back in March, which she said was first discovered after she did a self exam.
